FAQs What is a Moving Memories Video Presentation? Video Legacy takes your print photos, 35mm slides or digital photos (on CD) and produces a video you can view on DVD or VHS. Matched to your choice of music playing in the background. Aside from "common" transitions that simply "fade" or "cut" from one picture to the next, we include exciting Special effects/ 3D Hollywood transitions that will "bring your photos to life" in all our packages at Regular Price! What about music for my video? You may select your music from our instrumental music archive or provide your favorites on CD format. One song per 40-50 photos is the norm but we can also make musical medleys or complex segues to meet your needs. What are Text Captions? You can Get Creative with Video Legacy! Our advanced digital editing system can produce a wide range of titling typefaces and effects. Titles can be superimposed over any photo to "spice-up" a pic or a background to introduce the various sections of your video. Hollywood style scrolling titles or credits can appear either at the beginning or end of your video! You are only limited by your imagination! A generous ten captions are included in every video, or you can add more if desired. What size photos will work? Any photos up to 8"x10" are fine. Keep in mind that photos taken vertically will not fit proportionally on a TV screen and will have black bars on each side of the photo. Landscape-style or horizontal aspect photos work best. Also, please note that close-up photos will look better on your video. I have some faded photos, can you use them? When you choose our Photo Enhancement option we can restore the proper color balance, brightness and contrast to the photos in your order that need enhancement. See our example page here. In most cases we can bring these photos back to "new life" unless they are badly sunbleached or otherwise damaged. Can you repair photos that are damaged? Video Legacy can restore nearly any photo to close its original state! We can also remove or replace objects in the image, or produce a composite image from two or more images. However this is a time consuming process. Each photo requiring restoration will vary in the time needed to restore it, so please consult us for an individual quote! Can I add my home video to this project? Adding home movies is really the "icing on the cake" for your video so we definitely recommend this. For an extra charge we can insert many different types of video media including: VHS, VHS-C, DVD (non-copy protected). We can also expertly transfer your motion picture film: 8mm silent & sound, 16mm silent & sound to include on your video. To blend in and conform with the rest of presentation we suggest clips should be short, just 15 to 30 secs. in length. Can I get my video put on DVD? Since all our signal and image processing is in the digital domain, DVD is the primary format we use. We have the capability to create customized menus and graphics especially for your video and print custom DVD labels. Which better DVD or VHS? DVDs far outlast VHS or any tape media. Tapes are subject to jamming and easily damaged. Plus the DVD digital image contains no "noise" and you enjoy CD sound quality with no tape hiss. When a production is recorded onto VHS, the signal is no longer digital and all these shortcomings become apparent. Can I also have my photos on a CD-Rom? Sure. As an option we can put any photos submitted to us on a CD-R disc so you can see them on your computer, share thru email with your friends and family, or easily print them. Can I see a sample of a Moving Memories Presentation? Video streaming methods and downloads can't do justice to faithfully present our productions. However if you are a local customer we can make arrangements to show you a DVD demo! Call us anytime! What forms of payment do you accept? Your personal or business checks, money orders, cash, or Master Card, Visa, Discover, or American Express via Paypal are all acceptable forms of payment. How fast can you make my Moving Memories Presentation? We can complete your Moving Memories Video in 7 days (or less) if you in local to us. Please allow additional time (2-3 weeks) if you are an out-of-state customer. Of course this begins after we receive all materials and all required payments have been made. Moving Memories Memorial Videos for families in need of the video for a Visitation or Funeral receive special consideration and priority. Help! I need my video in less than 7 days! Depending on workload we will do all we can to help you, but we can't always guarantee turnaround this rapid. How can I place an order? Moving Memories™ Preparation Instructions: #1. Gather the photos you want in your video and number them in the sequence you want them to appear in. You can mark the back with a pencil or use the little "post-its" which work very well because you can also make annotations on them. If desired choose one photo you would like on your Title page. #2. Decide on the background music you want, the number of songs will depend on the length of the video, which depends on the amount of pictures! Typically one song for every 3-4 of video. If you need a medley of songs we can do that as well. We have royalty-free music selections and can choose for you, or you can include CD's that you own and indicate which songs you would like and in which order. #3. Write out your desired Text captions with the Photo number that you want the caption to appear on. Your allotted number of captions depends on the video package/product that you choose. Try to keep the captions to 10 words or less, please. If you want movie-sytle credits that "roll" at the end you should indicate this. #4. Your order includes ONE video in the following formats Choose One: DVD, VCD (video CD) or VHS tape. If you need additional copies of your video we can supply them at an afforable price. Indicate how many copies you would like. Finally, print out and sign the Order Form, enclose your payment and send to Video Legacy. If you are a local customer and using our delivery service you should still fill out an Order Form, and remit your 50% deposit when we pick up your photos. The balance will be required when the job is completed and we return your photos and your video! ALSO: Let us know if you need extra Services such as Photo Enhancement, Restoration, or Retouching and mark or indicate what is needed for each photo. For complex restoration or retouching you will probably want to speak with us over the telephone to describe precisely what you want.
